r. 6, 1936 THE MICHIGAN DAILY .. _ . _ ___ _ _ _ The Trimrose Michigan men and Michigan women found .many places to dally this week-end along the Primrose Path . . and they were gay places filled with fun and laughter. . of coairse one stop along the Path wasn't quite so much fun . . needless to mention that was the stop from two to four Saturday afternoon out at the Stadium . . but any way we still have great hopes for next Saturday S.A.E.'s At League. .. Now to go back to Friday night . . . the League was filled with people celebrating the end of the first week of classes and filled with hopes for the coming game . . . the orchestra played the "Victors" and "Varsity" and everyone stood and sang and cheered and had a wonderful time . We noticed a table of S.A.E.'s and their dates . . the table was originally for sixteen but due to Panhellenic rules it was separated into two tables for eight. .. George Trendle and Margaret Tichner and.Bob Emmett and Mary Jan Dans stood and sang lustily with Ellen Thompson and Pat Patterson . . at the next table Stephanie Parfet and Bill Wreford . . . John Steere and Bill Small and Peggy Van Vleck and John Call lent their voices to the song .. . The League is very tricky this year with its mirrors and indirect lighting :Muriel Hasserd and Frank Huseman were dancing over near the orchestra to watch the piano player's agile fingers in the mirror over the eyboard ... Walter Jensen and Adeline Singleton paused to watch them too . .. We also noticed one couple who had a novel way of dancing it .was very tricky . .. Veloz and Yolanda style . . . sorry we couldn't get their names-they passed too quickly. . . keep your eyes out for them . . . maybe it is a new Michigan custom . . . -Many Alutni Return.. . Again the well-known Chubbs opened its doors to Michigan students . - . it was a grand opening . . . good music.. . lots of people and much hilarity . . . At a table near the floor were Betty Ronal and Fred Buesser with Marian Fitzgerald and Bob Henoch . .. At the same table were Betty Sin- clair and Bud Smith . . .Later they were joined by Graf Sharpe and Chuck Kennedy . . Busy discussing the game were Mary Gies, Gary Bunting, Betty Shaffer and Dick Oliver . . . Out on the floor we noticed Dora Ann Day with Russ Cole and Ginny Jackson and Al Little . Saturday night found Michigan's pseudo-night club just as crowded . . It .was amazing the number of alumni that returned for the first game of the season.. . . Tom Kleene . . . last year's editor of The Daily was back . . . and we spotted Ann Timmons on the dance floor . . . Honey Rietdyk and George Wanty were greeting old friends at their table . . . we. also saw Mary Morgan and Henry Holliday . . . Lucille Johnston and Larry Evans .. . Lucille Betz. . . Marge Kress. and John Long . .. Ruth Laing and Jim Douglas . .. Jane Edmondson and King Louis... The Lawyers were there in great numbers . .. and both the Alpha Delts and the Dekes had long tables . . . Al Plummer and Virginia Spray were chatting with Herb Nadeau and Marjorie Link . . . All in all it was a wonderful reunion at Michigan's rendezvous - - - And Then The Uin. . . Football rivalries being temporarily laid aside, State and Michigan stu- dents and alumnae flocked to the Union, Saturday night . . . Thomas, Lawton Wedding Held Saturday Night The wedding of Sue Thomas, '36, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Thomas, of Dayton, Ohio, and George Lawton, '35, son of Mr. arid Mrs. Fred Lawton, of Royal Oak took place at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, at the First Presbyterian Church of Dayton. Attending Miss Thomas as maid of honor was her sister Charlotte. Mr. Lawton's best man was Mr. William Miller of Detroit. The ush- ers were Mr. William Warner of Ann Arbor, Mr. Elliot Swank of Day- ton, Mr. Robert Schlemann of Day- ton, and Mr. Warren Seeley of De- troit. Mrs. Lawton is affiliated with Delta Gamma sorority and was very active on campus, leading Panhellenic Ball, being a committee chairman for JGP, and holding the office of sec- retary of her class. Lawton is a member of Trigon fraternity and was president of his class. His fath- er is co-author of the Michigan song, "Varsity," and the couple were mar- ried on the 25th anniversary of the writing of that song. Problems in respect to the organiz- ing of the new league houses were discussed at the meeting, conducted by Mrs. Byrl F. Bacher and Miss Jeannette Perry, assistants to the dean of women. The electing of the house presidents was explained along with the undergraduate house rules, sign-out slips, quiet hours, and con- tracts.
