The Varsity took six firsts in nine events Saturday afternoon in drub- bing Coach Mike Peppe's Buckeyes 50 to 34. Harry Reike and Jack Kas- ley shared the spotlight for Mich- igan, while Dexter Woodford starred for Ohio State. Reike in his first start for Mich- igan won the back-stroke from Cap- tain Charlie Salie of the invaders in the good time of 1:41.5. Taking the lead at the outset, the Wolverine sophomore employed a smooth stroke to stay ahead all the way and defeat his All-American rival by a yard. Kasley repeated his performance of the first Indiana meet by swim- ming the 200-yard breast-stroke in 2:26, one and six-tenths seconds bet- ter than his own National Intercol- legiate record. Defeating his old rival Frank Bar- nard first by inches and then by less than a yard, Woodford won the 440-yard free-style in 4:59.3 and the 220 in 2:18.2. Bob Mowerson was a foot back of Barnard in the latter race. Lew Faulkenstein gave the visitors their third first place with a :25 per- formance in the 50-yardhsprint. Ned Diefendorf in the high-board diving, Ed Drew in the 100-yard free- style and the medley and sprint re- lay teams were the remaining Wol- verine winners.
