THlE MIHIGXN1DAILY TUESDAY, DECI Kodanda Rao To Speak On Panel Sunday Noted Hmdu Leader Was Associated With Ghandi In Caste Campaign Kodanda Rao, the noted Hindu leader, will be the guest speaker ofj the third International Panel to be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Michigan Union. Mr. Rao, a Carnegie Fellow at Yale,' is on a lecture tour of the American college centers. He has selected as his topic for the international dis- cussion, "Why the Division of Civili- zation into Eastern and Western." The talk will be followed by a gen- eral discussion in harmony with the general plan of previous panels. Mr. Rao came to America highly recommended by Mahatma Gandhi. He was associated with the latter when he carried on his anti-untouch- ability campaign from the Yervada Prison. Mr. Rao is also a member of the Servants of India Society. He has been private secretary to the Right Hon. Srinvasa Sastri when he was appointed Agent General of the Gov- ernment of India in South Africa. Immediately preceding his appoint- ment as Carnegie scholar in the de- partment of race-relations in Yale University, he was editor of the "Servant of India."
