Students should not eat in private boarding houses unless they know that the food is prepared in a sani- tary manner. Statistics show that there are more food infections that there are more food infections coming from the private boarding houses than from the restaurants. An attempt was made last year to run down several of the food infec- tions in private boarding houses, but it seemed very difficult to find any- one particular food responsible for the outbreaks. I believe the personal side of sani- tation is the solution of the problem. But it is difficult to control the ac- tions of individuals. A solution will come with education of the people in regard to proper personal health. Students can help in this manner by informing' the eating place owner if they are not satisfied with the sanitary conditions. than catering to the fictitious low level of intelligence movie audiences are reputed to possess. And for this atti- tude. I sincerely thank Columbia pic- tures. victor Schertzinger, who directed "Beloved" last season, is Hollywood's most competent director of musical films, in addition to being somewhat of a composer himself. His intelligent and serious handling of musical ma- terial for the movies is a definite con- tribution to the development of that medium of expression. "One Night of Love" is a story of a girl (Miss Moore) who longed for an operatic career, was adopted by a great voice teacher (Mr. Carminati), struggled hard to develop her talent - and became a success. In retrospect, one tries to evaluate the talents of Miss Moore, and the inevitable re- sult is an almost inexpressible feeling of, "Ah, Grace Moore." A great opera star in her own right, beautiful be- yond all expectations of her kind, comparatively young and alluring - could any one individual be graced more than this Grace is? It is hard to say. She makes the film fine enter- tainment, under Schertzinger's direc- tion, and the total result is of a higher class than one usually gets the chance to see.
