Here it is in a pair of slacks and a vest to match - the latter buttons over a convertible collar and may be worn as a golf jacket. It is worn with a sport coat. You will see it on display at the Style Show this afternoon. A two- some is what they call it, and they're trying to promote it on this campus. The matched vest and slacks come in most any color and style. Small checks will be featured. With it you can wear almost any, kind of sport jacket. One of the most- popular is a white shetland jacketx built with patch pockets and a trick back. The white linen jacket with darker slacks is responsible for this type of kit breaking out. For undergrad activities (and out- side the school, too) it is a pretty slick looking item. White buckskin shoes with black And Woman, O The lonstrosi By CAROL J. HANAN A woman's prerogative has always been to have the last word. But all male skepticism aside, there is one time when she doesn't make use of it. She stands patiently and takes it while the beloved tells her that the little pillbox chapeau that she had so painstakingly sought out makes her look like a cross between a bell-hop and an organ grinder's monkey. She suffers in silence while he in- termittently steps on and then curses the dear little train that just makes the dress. But what of him, my sis- ers? PREVIEW FOR SENIORS 1 It is the custom for the campus movie house at Colgate University to divide its audience according to classes. A performance begins at 7:15 p.m. for upperclassmen, and another at 9 p.m. for freshmen. .1 p ' ____ ______ ________________________ SPORTINCG NEWS moment seems to be toward an elab- orately casual English countryside manner. The balmaccan topcoat is a case in point. Reversible coats, it would seem, are not quite so popular as before. They just won't create a demand, although you can get them if you so desire. Raglan shoulder, the half belt, and slashed pockets are all the thing now. You can get them in browns, whites, greys and checks. The checked model seems to be the most popular in Ann Arbor. But getting back to camel's hair. With the tendency so pronounced in the direction of soft fabrics and looser models in clothing, it is no wonder that the college man accepts this type of topcoating, for it fills the demand to perfection. Natural Camel Popular The color, too, being natural camel, is alone enough to guarantee wide- spread acceptance. We saw one on display at one of the State Street stores which was double-breasted with pleated back, and full-belted. The buckle was a ever leather ring arrangement. And it had buttons - ah, yes, but- tons. The buttonless wrap around goat didn't last it seems. The boys asually came back to have buttons put on, saying it wouldn't hold to- ;ether si ccessfully. Raincoats Come To Life Once upon a time (and not so long Lgo at that), raincoats added a Dreary touch to weather that wasn't ,xactly in itself an inspiration to any- one save poets and songwriters. In Ann Arbor's rainy climate there is nothing more important than a suit- able raincoat. You need one to keep up your spirits. Undergraduates here have accepted two new raincoats that are both good looking and serviceable. One particu- larly smart model carries a small check on the outside and a larger one on the inside - almost a reversible effect. This coat is made as a bal- maccan with a short military con- vertible collar and five leather but- tons. White Raincoat Popular Another coat similar in style and one that is seen a lot is the whitish .ne -very light in weight and may be worn comfortably over a topcoat. 3eing light in weight, it makes a per- sect summer and warm weather rain- :oat by itself. Both of these coats are made with a tremendous drape to the skirts which tend to keep the rain off the feet. Neither is belted and both have slashed pockets. Get them with a large enough col- lar to afford protection, when turned up, for the back of the neck. 4fA L~aJ /f3/ jAPC. .4L -" a~A~4d /f l , I 1 , ,.. .. . ' . l ' i f, .
