Although the boys making the trip comprise practically three full teams with line- men predominating, only nine back- field mien will be carried. Four ends are included in the ros-" ter, Captain Ivan Willianmson, Ted Petoskey, Willis Ward, and Red Cox being taken to cover the flank posi- tion. Charlie Bernard a n d Gerry Ford are the only centers who made the trip. The other linemen who left last night are Whitey Wistert, Bill Hildebrand, Russell Damm, Wally Miller, Russell Fuog, Tommy Austin, Tage Jacobson, and Ted Chapman, tackles, and Abe Marcovsky, Carl Savage, John Kowalik, Cecil Can- trill, Bill Borgman, Leslie Frisk, and Oscar Singer, guards. Harry Newman and Louis Westover were taken to fill the quarterback post, with Johnny Regeczi and Russ Oliver listed as fullbacks. The half- backs who made the trip are Herm Everhardus, Stan Fay, Jack Heston, Billy Renner and Charlie DeBaker. The linemen who left lase night were kept out of yesterday's drill, re- ceiving their last licks on Wednesday. The Varsity backfield worked out yesterday on a passing attack against a freshman team. Later the reserve squad was sent into a defensive drill against another yearling group, armed with Buckeye plays. Only a few of the second-string men who left last night appeared in the lineup in the latter drill. The Thursday practice stressed defense, as most of the previous day's workout had been on offensive plays. The squad left in excellent physi- cal condition. Marcovsky and Damm, casualties of last week, have returned to strength, as has Whitey Wistert, giant tackle who has been idle most1 of the season. All three of these menI are expected to see lots of service in1 Saturday's game. s A light workout in the Ohio State stadium is scheduled for today. From Columbus come continued reports that Captain Lew Hinchman's injur- ies will keep him on the bench. In the East, the Pitt Panth- ers and Army clash at West Point in a battle of unbeaten elevens. Pitt, who beat the Cadets 26-0 last year, shows nearly as much power as last year, but if the Panthers show any defensive weakness, Army, with a speedy runningattack, is sure to find it. Penn and Dartmouth will furnish another duel of undefeated teams, both teams having shown strength in earlier games. Yale, by virtue of a shakeup after the Chi- cago game, is expected to make a much better showing in the game Saturday with Brown. Princeton, in view of their exhibition against Co- lumbia, promises to give Cornell all kiiids of trouble. In the Southern Conference, at least two of the title contenders will be eliminated in the duels involving Tulane and Vanderbilt, and Alabama and Tennessee. Other games of in- terest in the South are the meetings vetween Auburn and Georgia Tech; Georgia and North Carolina, and Duke and Maryland. In the West and Southwest the only major games are the California- Washington State and the Texas Christian and Texas A. & M. games. Intersectional tilts this week-end bring together Navy and Ohio Uni- versity, Holy Cross and Detroit, Southern Methodist and Syracuse, Fordham and Colgate, Carnegie Tech and Washington and Jefferson. Min- nesota tackles Nebrask, and Notre Dame will meet Drake in an easy game.
