At a general meeting of sophomore women to be held at 4:15 today in the League substantial changes in the type of play, the organization, and the financing of the play will be discussed and decided upon. Dean Alice Lloyd and Russel Mc- Cracken will speak briefly on some of the important phases of the play, and will suggest the possibility of not using a student manuscript for the basis of the play. Marion Giddings, '34, author of "Love On the Run," 1935 Junior Girls' Play, will have some valuable suggestions to make for those in- terested in writing a play. The chair- man of the play this year, Frances Manchester, '34, is to be present to offer several ideas as to the .organ- ization that would be most success- Margaret Phalan Awarded Trophy Margaret D. Phalan, '35, was for- mally presented the Theta Sigma Phi Journalism Cup for 1932-33 in a lrief ceremony yesterday in the League. The cup, given annually to the woman student "who has done the best work of any sophomore on a student publication," was presented by Eleanor Mann, '34, retiring presi- dent of the journalistic sorority. Miss Phalan, who is a night editor on the women's staff of The Daily, has had considerable journalistic ex- perience. She edited a high school publication in her home, Erie, Pa. She was elected Monday night to1 the presidency of Athena, national women's literary forensic society, and is vice-president of Theta Phi Alpha sorority.
