Among the pieces that attracted considerable attention was "Inspira- Voa," by Harry Furst, and "The Teacher," by Ann Hinshaw. The work of William Caley, '33, and Helen Bailey, '33, was particularly con- spicuous. Mr. Caley's "Japanese Portrait," and "Portrait of Kippy" and Miss Bailey's "Playfulness," rep- rcsenting a little boy protecting his kitten, were noted. "Peter Pan" by Miss Bailey, which was placed in the League garden, was also striking. Several portraits of campus not- ables were interesting. "Mrs. Ruth- ven" and another of Dr. Carl Huber, both by Professor Fairbanks; "Por- trait of Mrs. James Inglis" by Mrs. Anna Winter; "Fumi Oi" by Mrs. Sesta Matheison and a bust of Wil- liam Caley by Mrs. Winter were all models of people well-known on campus. "Quicksands" by Dr. Wilfred Dempster and "Ululabo" by Dr. Hil- liard Hicks, are both forceful pieces of work. Among the other pieces dis- played are: "Italian Greyhound" by Mary Lou Cummings, '35; "Diana" by William Shriber; "Dreams" by David Merriman, '35; "Daniel Rend- ing the Lion" by Faith Crittenden, '36; and works of Dr. Scott Holmes.
