THE MICHIGAN DAILY ft CAMPUS SOCI ETY Penny Carnival To Hold Dance Saturday Night Colorful Booths To Offer Large Variety Of Clever ud At Ani ua Affair gay crowds will throng on to the dance floor and among the colorful booths Saturday night to join in the fun when the Penny Carnival opens in Barbour Gymnasium. Booths of every kind will line the floor-jig- sawr puzzles, (root) beer garden, pop- corn, balloons, and many others. Dancing is to take place in the Sarah Caswell Angell Hall, upstairs, with music by Simpson's Detroiters, for which a small fee will be charged. Additional entertainment features will be announced from the runway of Barbour Gymnasium a few mo- ments before they are to go on. Prof. Waldo Abbott and Prof. Ar- thdr L. Cross are to assist dean Alice Lloyd in selecting the most original booth. The judges will make their tour of the booths at 5 p. m. after the inspection committee has com- pleted its work. All booth decora- tions must be in readiness by 4:30 p. m.. Marjorie Oostdyk, '35, chair- man of the booths, announced yes- terday. Beatrice DeVine, '35, finance chair- man, has arranged a system of change booths where money may be exchanged for one-cent carnival tickets. These tickets will be ac- cepted anywhere for the products of the booths and for dancing. No coins will be accepted.
