MICHIGAN TO MET Renwick, Star Sprinter, Vill Be Tested Saturday by Fazekas, Buckeye Speed King. New light on just how good Mich- igan's victorious track team really is should be thrown by the triang- ular meet between the Maize and Blue, the Illini, and the Buckeyes here Saturday night. The Wolves, those who entered, showed up re- markably well in the A.A.U. meet held at the Field House Tuesday evening and they received an ini- tial conference test against the Ma- roons last week-end. However neith- er meet should prove to be much of a basis for comparison, since the competition offered by Chicago was almost negligible, and the A.A.U. affair was strictly an inter-state event. Fazekas Threatens Renwick. Foremost among the questions raised by the coming meet is whether Renwick, Hoyt's recent "find" in the sprint event, can suc- cessfully compete against real Big Ten eompetition. Among his oppon- ents will be Fazekas of Ohio State,' who ran a good seeond to Eddie Tolan in the championships of last year. Fazekas is a sprinter of un- doubted ability, and he and Ren- wick should put on a ine exhibi- tion in the contest to fill Tolan's shoes. Egleston will challenge Iel- ler's supremacy in the hurdles. Keller, of Ohio, is rated' as one of the best hurdlers in the world, but Hawley Egleston has been improv- ing steadily and should be able to give the Buckeye star a good run for his money. "M' Relay Teams Strong. Michigan's strength,in the relay event's should stand her in good stead, in the coming meet since there will be a two-mile and a one- mile relay, each carrying a bonus of ten points in the competition. Doc Howell, Michigan distance star, should run into plenty of competi- tion 1\ the two-mile event of the trian air when he meets such runners as Lien of Illinois and Fallen of O.S.U. Varsity men who are back for an- other season include Captain Ryan, Bob Clark, who .is fifth ranking player in the Chicago district, Rein- dell, Snell, E. Clark, Pendell, and Brace. Result a Toss-up. The Northwestern meet is just about a toss-up with neither team holding much of an advantage over the other. The Wolverine hopes rest on the performances of their crack stars, while the Wild- cats base their aspirations of tak- ing the dual meet title on their well-balanced squad, which boasts strength in every event. Both Michigan and Northwestern have taken the measure of the Min- nesota natators by wide majorities, with the Wolverines outscoring the common foe by a wider margin than the Purple. In their only oth- er Big Ten encounter the Wildcats defeated the Illinois tankers by a big score. Tomorrow's meet is the second conference battleofethe sea- son for the Wolves "and .the last, scheduled dual engagement. Coach Jack Blott employed three separate teams during the drill with Titlebaum, a guard, and Russ Oliver, former Pontiac high star fiashing the best form. Late in the, first half a yearling forward, Hill, hooked one of the prettiest goals of the day, an overhead shot from the corner of the court.
