Wolves1 This. to Journey to Ka Afternoon; Ma Nine Matches. Michigan's Varsity tennis ta will swing into action this after- noon against one of the best tennis teams in the state. The squad of Western State Teachers College, for four years Michigan Intercollegiate tennis champions, will be their op- ponents and the match will be played in Kalamazoo. Three successfu1 meets are on the{ Hilltoppers' record for the present season, Grand Rapids J. C. and Notre Dame being defeated, and Chicago's strong aggregation tied, at three m a tches to three. Soren- son, Laevin, Glaser, and Zeimet are the four ranking men on the West- ern State team, and they are a quartet prominent in Michigan and Indiana net circles. Ryan at Number One. Michigan will probably line up with Captain Ryan at number one. Bob Clarke at two, and Reindel, Snell, Pendell, and Clark rounding out the list. Hopes this year fori victory over the Hilltoppers will run higher as the result of the gradua- tion last year of Capt. Byrum. By-, rum was able to defeat Michigan's best men for the three years in which he competed, and he won the state title for those years. Coach Johnstone of the Wolves expressed himself yesterday as dis- satisfied with the showing of his men in the called contest against the Northwestern team here. On the showing of yesterday, according to the mentor, Dick Snell should be at number one position for the Wolves. His performance Monday afternoon was certainly the only creditable one for Michigan. Cap- tain Ryan was certainly off form and Reindel suffered a relapse from the standard set by his play this year. 4 J By John Thomas White hairs seem to be the pre- vailing affliction for Michigan's Football coaches this summer.
