Classes, with the exception of clinics, will be dismissed promptly at 10:45. Senior students, in clinical classes, who are receiving honors at the Convoca- tion, may be excused in order to attend. Dr. Harry Woodburn Chase, President of the University of Illinois will give the Convocation address. Seats upon the stage will be provided for the faculty, who will assemble in the dressing rooms at the rear. Academic costume will be worn but there will not be a procession. Alexander G. Ruthven. Dcbate and Informal Reception: At the Ballroom of the Michigan League beginning at 7:45 tonight the Michigan Schoolmasters' Club will stage a debate on the following question: Resolved, Tlzat under present conditions the best interests of most secondary school pupils would be erved by increasing materially the number of units required in some of the newer fields, such as economics, sociology, citizenship, business, industry, speech, the fine arts, and health; and by decreasing materially the number of units required in some of the older and traditional sub- jects such as mathematics, foreign language, and ancient history. The debaters are six prominent school men of the state who have decided opinions and the ability to express these opinions forcibly. Each mnember of the audience will be given an opportunity to vote on the questioi. The general public is invited.l Student Tickets to Schoolmasters' Club Programs: Students may obtain free tickets, admitting them to any program of the Michigan Schoolmasters' Club, by calling in person for such tickets at any of the following places: Room C, Law building, Thursday afternoon, Ann Arbor Senior High School, Michigan Union and Michigan League, Friday. University Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information: The Bureau has a call for a man to teach Economics and Sociology in a iiddle-western college.
