Exhibition Match of Novel Game
Will Start Season
Wednesday.
Badminton will be introduced to
the undergraduate and graduate
'women on campus through an ex-
hibition game which will be given
at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday, Feb. 24,
at Barbour gymnasium.
The game will be demonstrated
by Louise Little, '35, and Betty
Talcott, '34.
These players have ben, practic-
ing for it during the last two
weeks. Both doubles and singles
will be played.
After the game questions may be
asked concerning rules and various
points. Any student who brings
rubber soled shoes can take her
turn in trying the game.
Later a definite time will be an-
nounced when students can prac-
tice. When a certain amount of
proficiency has been acquired it is
planned that tournaments will be
played off should there be a suffi-
cient demand for competition.
Any player who has tried her
hand at tenis should be able to
pick up the game with compar'ative
ease. It is considered one of the
best of the indoor games and it
has become very popular in clubs
and colleges.
Anyone wishing further informa-
tion concerning Badminton or the
exhibition may see Miss Hilda Burr,
instructor in physical education, at
Barbour gymnasum Miss Burr is
in charge of the new game and of
the exhibition. Wonen who are
interested are urged towatch the
exhibiton.
