Kitchen of Muskegon. Robert Bro-
die, '33, chairman of decorations,
'will accompany Florence Jacobs of
Detroit. John Groves, assistant
chairman, will lead one-of the lines
with Barbara Cook, of Chicago.
Among the prominent couples
will be Richard Tobin, '32, manag-
ing editor of the Daily who will es-
cort Margaret ,'Thompson, '32, of
Detroit, Collegiate Sorosis, women's
editor of the Daily. Carl Forsythe,
'32, City seditor of the Michigan
Daily, will take Betty Coaltrap of
Delaware, Ohio.
Margaret Grant, '35, of Monroel
will be escorted by Edward McCor-
mick, president of the Student
Council. Frank Hasel, '33, assistant
chairman of the floor' conimittee,
will take Hazel Trowbridge, of To-
ledo, Ohio.
Eloise Kincaide, '35, of. Montgom-
ery, W. Va., will attend the J-Hop
escorted by David Nichol, news edi-
tor of the Michigan Daily. Miss
Kincaide is a Kappa Kappa Gamma
pledge.

country will attend the function
together with other University stu-
dents and members of the commit-
tee.

Cincinnati University will be the
first university -ean to oppose the
University of Michigan debaters on
the question of whether India
should be granted independenge
immediately. This debate is tk be
held on the second day of the new
semester, February 16.
The women from Cincinnati are
making a tour through this part of
the country meeting a number of
universities on the debate platform. I
They are debating both the Indian
question and that of the cancella-
tion of war debts. The debate with
Michigan is a non-decision contest
as it is not hone of the regular con-
ference debates. The final an-
nouncement of which women will
represent the university has not
been made as yet.
Both of the varsity debates will
be held on thq night of February 25.
The negative team will go to In-
diana to compete with Indiana uni-
versity while the affirmative team
Will entertain Northwestern univer-
sity here.
The women who are working on
the negative team are: Dorothy
Daniels '32, Gladys Baker '33, and
Jean Hagaman '33. i'he affirmative
team is composed of the following:
Dorothy Davis '33, Maxine ilmore
'33, and Alice Schleh '32. Both
teams are being coached by Mr.
Floyd K. Riley of the Speech de-
partment.
