Concluding a four-day run, Com- edy club will present a homecoming performance of the "Streets of New York" tonight at the Mendels- sohn theatre. With a great number of football fans and members of the Michigan press association al- ready planning to attend, a sell-out is predicted for the performance. Dealing with the depression of 1857 Dion Boucicault's drama de- picts the evil conspiracies and in- trigues that permeated the upper social and financial circles of New York society back in the fifties and sixties. Ruin and disgrace iollow rapidly on the heals of- crime in a show that brings to light the insid- ious machinations of a hard-hearted and unscrupulous banker. ,Theplay is not so much a bur- lesque of the original melodrama as a faithful representation given in the manner in which it was ori- ginally played, it was stated by Robert Wetzel, of the English de- partment, director of the play. 'School and Society' Copies Now Available The final report of the investiga- tion of "The Influence of the Eco- nomic Depression On Student Life at the University of Michigan" ap- pears in the latest edition of ,the "School and Society' magazine. Professor Robert Angell of the sociology department has announc- ed that copies of the magazine are available at his office to all stu- dents of his last year's class in "Sociology of Student Life" who assisted in the preparation of this material.
