T ag-Speedball Will Take Place
of Rlegular Consolation
, Speedball Meet.
11
By Charles A. Sanford '
Tag-speedball is the hybrid sport
that has been invented by the In-
tramural Department for the con-
Solation series of inter-fraternity
competition this season. A tourna-
ment of eight teams has been
drawn up to start tomorrow after-
noon at 4:30.
Players May Carry Ball.
Observations bly officials and
players in the regular speedball
tourney brought forth several sug-
gestions for changes in the rules
that have contributed ,to this new
sport. As a result the game will be
very similar to speedball except
that the players may run with the
,bll. However, when the player is
tagged the ball goes to the oppo-
Xients at that spot.
The department hopes that thisI
experiment will prove successful
and will watch it closely for sug-]
gested changes in the regular
eedball event. Since the playing
feld and the number of men to a
team will remain the same its ap-
plication to inter-fraternity compe-
tition will be unaltered.
Two Games Tomorrow.
Te schedule will open with Delta
,ima Phi heeting Theta Chi and
i Gamma Delta playing Tau
Delta Phi tomorrow afternoon.
Tiesday will see Sigma Chi and
Oma Alpha Mu tangling, while
P~i Beta Delta and Phi Kappa! Sig-
ia furnish the teams for the other
game.
Special awards and recognition
fo points will be made as usual
with theconsolation tournaments
i Intramural competition.

and one of Canada's greatest rugby
players is a possibility for a re-
ere position. The other man,
D'Arcy Coulson, was , purchased
from the West Coast by the Quak-

to flash his best form but may de-

just inside end and made several
creditable gains.
Bill Hewitt's plunge of 49
yards in the middle of the third
quarter was clocked at 8 1/3
seconds. Hewitt's pass to Wil-
liamson for 9 yards needed only
2 1/3 seconds, to be thrown,
caught, and Williamson stopped.
Fay's runback of a punt for 30
yards in th: first quarter took
12 1/4 seconds while his 40-yard
gain on an intercpted pass at the
end of the same period used up
only 7 1/5 seconds.
Michigan's band reminded
one of anoctopus when it start-
ed its formations at the half.
Once underway though, it was
unbeatable-even if the drum-
major did drop the baton after
throwing it over the goal post.
Its "IMS1" is our choice for the
best formation seen on the field
this year.
Mon nett and Eliowitz were fast
but on the wet field it was Stanley
Fay who surprised, the fans with
his out-running ability. His circling
of the ends and Hewitt's erratic
plunging were the features of the
Wolverine offense.

We believe that Ann Arbor has had enough experience in buying dry cleaning to know what's what in
value. Cleaning that is fresh, pure and wholesome, and Forn-pressing that shapes clothes carefully, are
two important factors in determining quality. Goldman Bros. gives you this quality, and at p-ices that
produce for you the best value in cleaning you have ever been able to buy before!
