Years of hard work, c however, were required to win recognition, for this writer who will open the lecture series Nov. 23 in Hill audi- torium. Partly because of his mixed Eng- lish and Italian descent, Sabatini showed evidences of genius even in his youth. At 18 he could speak and write five languages. In his lecture here, Sabatini will discuss "Fiction in History and His- tory in Fiction." He has been writ- ing historic novels for the last 25 yearsh and is .a recognized author- ity. In recent years, he has been turn- ing out novel after novel. One ex- planation is that he is a deep stu- dent, his research is thorough and he pays attention to even the smallest details. Because of his creative imagination, he has been termed the modern Dumas. Among his more famous works are "Scaraniouche the King Mak- er," his latest book, "Sea Hawk," and "Scaramouche."
