Mlle. Eveline Fournier, the new
assistant director of Jordan hall,
who is a native of France, came
to America a little over a year ago
and since then most of her time
has been spent in Ann Arbor.
Mlle. Fournier formerly attended
school in England where she learn-
ed the English language. Since
that time she has always been in-
terested in women's clubs, schools
and societies.
During the war, Mlle. Fonrnier
was directress in the home for
American women in the Signal
Corps at Bordeaux, France, after
which she attended the interna-
tional school for social work in
Paris.
She directed social clubs for bus-
iness women in numerous French
towns before coming to America.
Mlle. Fournier intends to have a
'French table' in the Jordan hall
dining room. The women at this
table will be permitted to speak
French only. In this way a num-
ber of the residents will have the
opportunity of being in a French
atmosphere. Of course one's pres-
ence at this table is wholly ac-
cording to choice. It is expected
that this custom will undoubtedly
prove beneficial to those women
who make use of it.
M. J. Tilley is city clerk, fire chief,
city engineer, superintendent of
streets, high school trustee, engi-
neer of a highway district and
county surveyor at Susanville, Cal.
A total of $80,101.65 in gifts was
given to Ohio State university dur-
ing the 1930-31 school year.
