THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2 , 1'30T THE MICHIGAN D A I Y HOYT ILL C6HOOE 51XTH IU l I Choice Rests Between Feustal and Fitzgibbons to Fill Wolverine Entry. '- ~ Int rarr1 i ra A CLASESIF1 ADVERdTISING ' AUSTIN MUST BEAT LEAS With five members of the six- man squad definitely picked for the trip to Urbana for the Western Conference cross country meet, Coach Hoyt winds up practice to- day with the selection of his sixth man. The entire squad with the exception of Captain Fitzgibbons is in good shape and will enter the meet with hopes to place some- where in the first division. The fleet Austin, who has won over three conference teams, and his running mates Wolfe, Howell, Hill, and Crawford are sure to go to Urbana. The remaining choice lies between Feustal, who has showed nothing exceptional up to last week when he beat Crawford, and stocky little Fitzgibbons, who will have to prove to the coach that he has recovered from his in- jury before he will be allowed to make the trip with the Wolverines. The Indiana Harriers stack up as the best aggregation in the confer- ence meet right now. They have slammed Ohio and swamped their osther" opponents, and Leas, their star runner, looks the best of the probable winners. Wisconsin ranks about next as a team with several good men with potential power. Letts of the Chicago squad looks fair among the individual har- riers and may come in with the first flight pacers. Michigan has a strong threat for th~e first man acro,,s the tape in her lanky star Austin who has downed all but the Hoosier leader, Leas. If he keeps up his stride he may outrun the others and take the honors, Howell and Wolfe have look~ed good also and should be in the first ten men. The Wolverines will leave here by auto Friday morning and go to Milan where they will take the Wa- bash to Urbana, arriving about six tomorrow evening. They will have no' time to° try the course though as the meet is scheduled to be run off at 10:30 Saturday morning. YEARLINGS BOW TO PHYSICAL EDS. Everhardus, Smith, Petoskey Score Touchdowns.
