COMING EVENTS
Second Thomas Spencer Jerome Lecture, "The Life of the People
in rown and Country, Part One," by Professor J. G. Winter, Tuesday,
November 11, at 4:15 p.m., Room D, Alumni Memorial Hall.
University Lectures: Dr. Edward Kremers, Professor of Pharma-
ceutical Chemistry and Director of the course in Pharmacy in the Uni-
versity of Wisconsin will deliver two lectures on Wednesday, Novemberk
12, as follows:
4:15 p.m., Natural Science Aud.: "The Apothecary in Literature."
8:00 p.m., Chemical Amphitheater: "Justus von Liebig."
Both lectures wi'll be illustrated.
Applicants for University Scholarships, notice: The following stu-
dents are requested to meet the Scholarship Committee on Wednesday
p.m., Nov. 12, room 112 R.L. at the time indicated in this notice:

Medical and Dental Students who have not been able to secure their
identification cards may call for them on Tuesday, November 11, between
12M. and 1:00 p.m. or between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Please call at Room 4,
University Hall. J. A. Bursley, Dean of Students.
University Bureau of Appointments and Occupational Information:
The Bureau will hold its annual registration for teachers in 201 Mason
Hall next week, Monday through Friday; hours, eight to twelve and
one-thirty to four-thirty. After Friday the 14th there will be a late
registration fee of one dollar, to be paid at the University Treasurer's
office.
Graduate and undergraduate students, alumni, and faculty members
are eligible for enrollment.
Candidates for advanced degrees should enroll next week, as well as
the undergraduates, and complete their records early. The Bureau has
oppartunities to place well qualified persons in colleges, normal schools,
and un;versities as well as in public seho l positions.
Hygiene Lectures: Names of f:eshman and upperclass women who
have missed one or more hygiene lectures have been posted in Barbour
Gym. Will all those attending the lecturesp lease check their attendance
with these lists? Make-up assignments have also been posted.
Mr. Butchart's students w3ll confer the week of November 10-15 at
the usual time.

Fraternities: The regular meeting of the Interfraternity council,
scheduled for next Monday, will be postponed until one week from Mon-
day in order to make possible the presentation of a deferred rushing

Men from Buffalo and vicinity are invited to attend the Scalp and
Blade's annual smoker to be held in the Michigan Union, Tuesday, Nov.
11, in rooms 316, 318, 320, at 8:00 p.m.
Tolstoy Anniversary: Monday, Nov. 10, Dr. F. S. Onderdonk will give
an illustrated lecture on H. G. Wells and L. N. Tolstoy at 4:15 in Room
231, Angell Hall.
Faculty Alumni Dance Series: The first dance of the serites will take
place in the Union at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, Nov. 11. Series tickets
may be secured at the dance or from Mrs. A. S. Aiton, 2020 Seneca street.
The Monday Evening Drama Section of the Faculty Women's Club
will meet Monday, November 10, at 7:45 o'clock at the Michigan League.

Book Shelf and Stage Section of the Faculty Women's Club will meet
at the home of Mrs. Ernest F. Barker, 18 Ridgeway, Tuesday, November

Respecting the American Association of University Professors: The
next annual meeting of the American Association of University Profes-
sors is to be held in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 27, 28, 29 next. The,
General Secretary, Mr. H. W. Tyler, 26 Jackson Place, Washington, D. C.,
is desirous of knowing who from our local chapter are likely to be in
attendance. Will those expecting to attend the Cleveland meeting kindly
write Mr. Tyler at their early convenience.

The Wesleyan Guild: Dean W. D. Henderson will be the speaker at

Howard McCluskey of the Dept. of Psychology will speak on "Tech-;
niques of Private Worship" at the Student Volunteer meeting in the
fire-place room of Harris Hall (Huron & State), 8:30 a.m. Those inter-

Congregational Student Fellowship: Prof. Preston W. Slosson of
the History Department will speak at 6:30 p.m. in the church parlors, on

Psychological Journal Club: Dr. Martha Muchow, of the Psychologi-
cal Institute in Hamburg, Germany. will speak at 7:15 p.m., Tues., Novem--

Undergraduate Mathematical Club will hold its second meeting
Tuesday evening, November 11, at eight o'clock in Room 3011 Angell
Hall. Mr. Thomas Greville will speak on "When Parallel Lines are not
Parallel." The meeting will last one hour. Everyone is asked to bring;
one cent.
Women's Education Club will meet at the Women's Athletic building
