Oosterbaan Awards Baseball Numerals to Freshman Squad Coach Bennie Oosterbaan award- ed fourteen freshman baseball play- ers with neumerals yesterday. The total squad numbered around thirty but only the regulars will receive the emblems. Freshmens baseball has a six- week season starting around Spring Vacation. The only games allowed the players are the annual Fresh- man-Physical Education game, and practice games with the Reserves and Varsity. No outside competi- tion is allowed. Waterboro, Wistert, and Fish look like the best bets for Varsity places next year. The former is a short- stop while Wistert is a first class pitcher. Fish scampers around the hot corner and can play in the out- field. Avon Aitz, Ronald Baldwin, Don- ald Bowers, Donald Feldstein, How- ard Ferguson, Leslie Fish, Charles Menefee, Donald Richards, Harry T. Tillotson, whose award is his third as he won numerals in football and basketball too, Herbert Van Nov- chnys, Stanley Ware, Stanley Wat- erboro, Louis Westover, and Fran- cis Wistert complete the list of numeral winners. Although defeated in the annual Freshman-P h y s i c a 1 Educational game, two Physical Eds were awarded numerals, Beoger C. Lar- son and Charles Manimowics. Coach Bennie Oosterbaan said that the squad was not an excep- tionable one but fairly good with several men who have chances for the Varsity next season.
