Well, I've been wait- ing for this day because it is the only time I get any sieep (except in class), and also get around and get a few things off my chest. (Yes, it's rapidly developing, thanks to Lionel Strongarm). I always look forward to Saturday anyway, for that's when the check rolls in. Nothing like a check, y'know, unless it happens to be one the girl-friend runs up. It's becoming a habit,-stopping in at the bank every Saturday, even though the deposit isn't one that would rise up and smack you down. I've been on this camus off and on now (I mean that, off and on- cometimes here and the rest in Detroit, but never Ypsi), and they've always treated me with" more respect that one finds on this campus (especially from the profs). But anyway, after fattening up my account (yes, it is fat considering the way it was the last time I opened my check book), who should I meet but George Dusenberg, iron- ''ical editor of the Diagonal (advt.), who was looking neither to the right nor left. I imagine it was because several stttdents have been shadow- ing him in a chance to waylay him for that 'White Elephant,' although I didn't notice any elephant on the 'Ensian cover (advt.). He seemed sort of relieved when I asked him to drop in and have a drink (coke) at the Betsy Ross Shop. There we met Paul Cix (pronounced sex) 'Showers, elated, I suppose, since the Ann Arbor ministerial association has asked him ton get out some sort of pamphlet on "Why College Humor Magazines Should Be Sup- pressed." After leaving there, I decided I needed a hair cut, and went down to see Hart at the Arcade barber shop. Have been going there for some time now, buts their stock soared right up when I breezed in. My face is slowly creeping back on me and I never have a whole lot of hair to get cut, but when I do, I like a job done right. Who should I meet in there but Bob Carson, in a hurry as usual. His band is one of the best on the campus. ,Imagine, floating along with your girl in my arms (that would make a good theme song), slow like. I. never did 'like to run a race with an or- chestra. They always win. Being in a spending mood (those days are rare, however, for general- ly I haven't anything to spend), I stepped in the Arcade jewelry shop. I had been gazing at a ring in the window for so long that I couldn't suppress my desire any longer (after Freud), and bought it. Since spring is really here (you wouldn't know it, though), I broke down and got a pair of sport shoes at Murphy's Boot Shop. Since we're the Harvard of the West (New York papers please copy), one has to keep up with the Jones'. Just as I was coming out of Goodhew's Flower Shop, where I bought some flowers, who should come along but several women, breezing out of the Blue Bird Hair Shop with a permanent that was permanent. I've a date with one of them. Perhaps she'll have on a new hat, for they went in Dana Richardson's Shop, and a new dress, for she was carrying a box with the Rubley Shop label on it.
