With two weeks left in which to complete any Intramural activities, there is much play remaining in All-Campus tennis. In the doubles, Bauss and Dale have already reach-I ed the semi-finals but the first round match between Potashnick and Diamond versus Hanken and Cohen -has not been played due to inclement weather and the inability to arrange a suitable date. The winner of the Sandusky and Root versus Cummings and McEl- waine will play Hause and Corey for the right to enter the semi-finals, while Hirschman and Schnapp have a quarter-final match to play with Sjostrum and Courtis. Waring and Renihan are marking time in the lower bracket having reached the quarters. Schaefer and Durand are waiting for the completion of the match between Potshnik and Henk- en's teams to decide who is going to meet Waring and Renihan on the way to the finals. Singles in Quarters. In All-Campus singles the situa- tion is a little better, considering that there were more entries in this sport. Waring and Finch are to play to determine who will meet Cole in the quarter-finals. Hirsh- man and Brown are to play to enter the same round and will meet the winner of the Land-Muzzy match there. Schaefer has reached the quar- ters and is waiting to play the win- ner of the Wilcox-Hause match. Renihan and Hawley are also to play in the quarter-final rounds. Doubles Play Even. In the doubles tournament Bauss and Dale look pretty good, having reached the semi-finals by defeat- ing Podlewski and Lederle, 6-3, 8-6, 6-0. Waring and Renihan are also an outstanding pair, although the tourney as a whole is still a wide open affair. Of the remaining players in the singles tournament, Cole, Hirsh- man, Waring, and Muzzy are the only seeded players that are left. Cole is defending champion, but his laurels are being threatened by Land, who has a good chance, and Schaefer, who defeated Sandusky one of the seeded players. To Pep Up Meets. The department is considering running two rounds off this Satur- day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, in both the singles and doubles competition. Something must be done soon to end these tourneys. If such a course of action is decided upon the In- tramural Department will notify the players by Friday afternoon. Johnny Reindel; Clark and Ryan have won their matches against Big Ten opponents consistently this year.; The real team strength of Michigan lay in this group. Ham- mer has a slight edge in playing ability on these men but he meets stiffer opposition by playing the leadoff man. Reindel teamed with Ranck to win the Chicago meet in the last doubles match of the after- noon. He is a steady player but sometimes rises to great heights in his tennis playing.
