Preparations today were being made to receive more than 75 alumni of the School of Business Administration, who will convene here tomorrow for a one-day con- ference in the Union. The committee, composed of D. M. Phelps, '26, T. K. Haven, '29, and R. T. Beall, '30, have been working on plans for the last month, and, from present indications, they said, the conference is expected to sur- pass thoso of the last two years. The conference, the third to be held in as many years, will open at 9:30 o'clock tomorrow morning, at. which time Dr. Clarence S. Yoak- um, vice president of the Univer- sity, will make the address of wel- come. The response will be given by Milton J. Drake, M.B.A. '30. Group discussions, beginning at 10 o'clock, will be held in banking and investments, marketing and sales management, and accounting. A luncheoon will follow at noon, with Ralph Starr Butler, a gradu- ate of the University, and now vice president in 'charge of advertising, General Foods corporation, giving an address on "A Challenge to American Business." Pick Doctor Carefully, Tell Him All, Is Advice MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., May 7.- (M)-The layman got an earful from Dr. Melvin S. Henderson ofj Rochester, Minn., Wednesday. Speaking before the Minnesota State Medical association he said a man or woman should select a doc- tor with, the same care exercised in the selection of a wife or a hus- band. Then he added: "Once you have decided he is the man for your doctor, hold nothing ,from him, not even your monthly income, and that doctor will see you get a dollar's worth of service for every dollar you pay him." Cities of State Mut Waive T ax Penilties LANSING, .May 7.-(P)-Action by cities andnvillages throughout the state is~ necesar~y if they wsh to join the state in waiving penalties on 1929 and 1930 taxes until July 1, according to Louis N. Webber, secretary of the Michigan Real Es- tate association. The law remitting penalties. un- til July 1, which was passed to re- lieve those unable to pay their taxes, applies to counties, town- ships and school districts but not to village and city taxes. The city of Detroit has passed an ordinance lifting the penalties. WICKERSHSAM ASKS FOR CRIME FIGHT WASHINGTON, M a y 7.-(')- Chairman Wickersham of the law enforcement commission today urg- ed the American Law Institute to enlist its scholarship- and research in the fight on crime. Wickersham, who is also presi- dent of the institute, said in open- ing its ninth annual session that he felt the time had come for an in- tensive study and clarification of criminal law, and asked the insti- tute to undertake the work. B U F F A L O, May 7.-(AP)-Fire which swept through the 106th' Field artillery Armory here and caused damage estimated by Capt. William Speidel, regimental supplyI officer, at more than $7,000,000, was under control early today. Capt. Speidel said that, with Capt. Joseph W. Becker of the 174th regiment, he made an ap- praisal of the damage to the Arm- ory and its contents three years ago. He said they appraised the value of the Armory alone at $3,- 000,000, and the equipment at $4,- 000,000. The blaze spread during the night to a nearby church and de- stroyed it. Fire officials estimated this loss at approximately $50,000. Minute men of a legion post were drilling when John D.
