PHI SIGMA ADMITS
TWELVENEW MEN,
Huber Speaks at Spring Banquet
of Honorary Biological
Fraternity.
Twelve new members were mit-
lated into Phi Sigma, national hon-
orary biological fraternity, Thurs-
clay night at a banquet in the Un-
ion.
Dean G. Carl liuber, of the Grad-
uate school, spoke on "The Viccis-
situdes of Research," remarking
that, "Lucky breaks in research of-
ten lead to new methods and new
discoveries."
Professor Ned Dearborn was the
only faculty member elect. Other
initiates, all graduate sLudents,
were,, Ber~er Berg, Paul Dalke, Louis
Knoepp, Earnest Rennabaum, John
Nyboer, Theodore Coile, John Kli-
mek, Wallace Magoon, Lawrence
Stuart, and Anthony Pearson.
A. F. Roe, grad., welcomed the
new members and reviewed the na-
tional and local history of the or- I
ganization, pointing out that the
Beta at Michigan was now the old-
est chapter, since the Alpha at Ohio
State University was expelled for
lack of co-operation.
Due to the absence of the presi -I
dent, P. L. Risley, grad., presided. I
Dr. Carl D. LaRue, of the botany I
department, acted as toastmaster. j
