According to Dr. Margaret Bell, of the physical education de- partment if a sufficient number of women on this campus are actively interested in the girl scouts to wish to take advantage of this course. the physical education department would be willing to sponsor it "We are enthusiastic about the course," Dr. Bell said, "and would like to see it adopted by the women here. It would be primarily for those not in the physical education department, but for all women on campus irrespective of their schools;' This training course, which the National Girl Scouts will bring here for a nominal sum if the re- quest is made, includes from 8 t 10 meetings conducted by a girl scout national instructor. As many meet- ings as can be arranged are held out-of-doors, and one hike i planned. This, however, is not the ~ primary purpose of the course. It is essentially intended to teach col- lege women the aims of the Girl Scouts, and emphasis is placed up- -.on ways of carrying on scout troops rather than upon earning ' ranks and badges. The Girl Scouts as a national or- ganization do not ask for academic credit in higher institutions. The course is destined primarily for vol- unteer leaders, young women who look forward to becoming national leaders of Girl Scout troops, and it is a desirable first step to those AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF 4 DALCROZE EURYTHMICS Modern Education in ' RHYTHM MOVEMENT MUSIC Bodily Technique, Plastic Movement, Solfege, Improvisation, Piano, Composition.
