Annual Basketball Banquet to
be Held March 6
to Make Awards.
Plans for the remainder of the
class basketball season have been
definitely formulated. Thus far only
practice sessions have been held in
groups and no definite team com-.
binations have been used. Pirst
teams will be chosen and their
names posted on the bulletin board
of Barbour gymnasium January 17.
There will be, in addition to these,
three second teams, the upperclass
unit composed of juniors and se-
niors, and a freshman and sopho-
more team. Members of second
teams are asked not to drop out of
the tournament, because regular
games will be scheduled for them
as well as for first squads.
Games to Begin January 21.
Games will begin Monday, Janu-
ary 21. The seiiors will meet the
juniors at 4 o'clock; sophomores
will play freshmen at 5. The upper-
class second squad will oppose so-
phomore seconds at 4 o'clock Tues-
day afternoon, January 22. Three
games are scheduled for Thursday,
seniors vs. freshman and upper-
class vs. freshman seconds at 4
o'clock, and sophomores vs. juniors
at 5. This will conclude the games
before final examinations. During
the examination period no games
will be played nor will any practices
be held, but a faculty team will
challenge each ofutheclass squads
to meet them then, so such squad
will have an opportunity to play
once. At the opening of the new
semester a general practice will be
held in which the senior and sopho-
more groups, and juniors and
freshmen will practice together.
A senior-sophomore game, at 4
o'clock, and a junior-freshman
game at 5 o'clock will be called
Thursday, February 20. The tresh-
man seconds will meet the sopho-
more seconds at 4 the same day.
These contests will conclude the
first round of the tourney; the sec-
ond series will begin Tuesday Feb-
ruary 25. The final game of the
class tournament will be run off
Tuesday, March 4.
Plan Social. Events.
Social activity for the -basketball
season is planned, as well as athle-
tic contests. A spread will be held
February 25 to which all who are
interested in basketball are invited.
