And have you thought about the new clothes you're going to need for the Christmas sea- son? If you haven't, you shouldn't leave Ann Arbor without a visit to the French Room at Mack's. Variety in all the new styles is the keynote of their display. There are clever dresses for positively every conceivable occasion, and you may be sure of your individuality in, them, for there are no duplicates. The French Room itself is done in la- vender and green and is divinely contfortable. It is most exclusive, too, and is kept constantly supplied with the very latest fashions by buy- ers in New York. I recently sepnt a particularly in- teresting afternoon looking over the new frocks in the French Room. Long skirts, high waists, and fitted hiplines, of course, held sway; but you'll find clever little individual touches that show the French Room dresses to be quite apart from the usual thing. Little white collars and cuffs in the new handkerchief linen are some- thing different and are most attrac- tive. Georgette dresses are -showing short puff sleeves for semi-formal wear. Dresses for ' similar occasions in other materials have capes that fall to the elbow instead of sleeves. Narrow belts of the same material as the dress define the normal waist- line on many frocks. Black and egg-shell are the pre- dominating colors in formal gowns this season. The French Room is showing a stunning stiff black taffeta gown, embroidered with flowers in gold thread. The skirt reaches to the ankles all the way round, and the extremely low decollete is cut down to a large stiff bustle, in the back. Stiff materials are vying with clinging georgettes for predominance in evening wear. A deep blue moire frock in the French Room has a long, fitted bodice, with a skirt flared up on one side to meet an enormous stiff bow perched on one hip. But next to this model is a clinging georgette in the popular egg-shell. Its soft lines are molded to the figure from shoulder to hip, while a skirt made a varying lengths of georgette forms an interesting uneven hem- line. Bright reds and greens take pre- cedence among frocks for informal wear, excepting those in fishnet. These are found chiefly in the more conservative colors, such as black and very dark green. Flat crepes have circuiar skirts, long all the way round, while the georgettes more frequently secure their length by means of graceful floating panels. An outstanding French Room model is a red flat crepeshowing the new i - LES PAPFUM S C O T> ,: a ..i ._, , -1 , t , ___ One NoeWe Dial 8879 For Appointment To Shp "The Parrot Is Under Us" BEAUTY SERVICE THAT IS DIFFERENT 338 SOUTH STATE STREET Dial 887k M IM M11111111111ill 111111111111711111IM11111111 SUGGESTIONS FOR HIM TOILET SETS SHAVING SETS FOUNTAIN PENS DESK SETS PIPES AND TOBACCO CIGARS i .. \ \ . ... a a YJ -'-- f ;,- ! , f ^' ' J ./"°' i \ l ff f " ' + t { ' [ Quarter-Ounce "Purse- Size" in latinur-toned Cases or Coloured Crackle Finish Cases.
