To qualify fo these scholarships, a student mus! have studied ]French for at least four years, two of which must havc' been in college, it is announced. In addition, the graduate school of New York university offers a fellowships in any subject chose> to recommended graduate stu- dents. Five $1,000 Penfield scholar- ships in the fields of diplomacy, in- ternational affairs, or belles-lettres are offered by the same instituion.
