The arrests follow- ed upon the reported discovery of diamonds in the state room of William Bally, the steward, by a squad of 60 customs men whoe searched the big liner last Satur- day. The other defendents were John T. McIntrie, the policeman; Mor- ris Landau, the jeweler, and Miss Frances Landau, all of whom fur- nished bail.
