the third Intramural League game
yesterday afternoon by a score of
13-10. The Sophomores held a lead
of 10-0 at the end of the first half
and looked to have the game cinch-
ed, but the Physical Eds were out
to avenge their defeat at the hands
of the Freshmen last week, and;
could not be denied.
Conference battles, the only two,
following the Illinois upset, that can,
boast of such a record.
The game at Columbus will be
but one of four Big Ten battles,
however, since Minnesota will clash
with Indiana at the Gopher strong-
hold, Wisconsin will battle the
lowly Maroons at Madison while
Purdue invades Evanston to tangle
with Northwestern.
Barring, of course, the feature.
battle involving Iowa and Ohio
State, the clash between Purdue
and Northwestern should provide a
few thrills.

First Quarter Scoreless
No score was made in the first
quarter as neither team was in
dangerous territory during that
that time, however in the secondt
quarter, after a long march down1
the field, Dobbin of the Sopho-
mores, essayed a place kick, but the
opposing line broke through too
fast and blocked it. A moment aft-
er this Richardson, Soph right
tackle, broke through and blocked
one of Hudson's: punts. Not content
with this, Richardson picked up
the ball and struggled over the goal
line for a touchdown. Dobbin
neatly place-kicked the extra point.
In this 'same period the Sophs
again worked the ball down to
their opponents 13 yard mark and
from there could not gain. Dobbin
tried another place-kick, and this
time the ball sailed between theI
cross bars and brought the score
to ten.1
Physical Eds ScoreI
The first PhysicalsEd score came
in the third quarter as a result of
a fumble. Dobbin was attempting
to pass, but was tackled before get-
ting the ball away and dropped it.
Danials, opposing left tackle, scoop-
ed it up and raced 50 yards for the
six points. Hudson missed the try
for point after touchdown.
The game sea-sawed back and
fourth with the Sophs showing the
best football, until late in the last
period Simmons caught one of
Dobbin's punts and twisted through
a broken field for 50 yards before'
he was brought to earth by Auer
on the Soph 20 yard line. After
trying the line without success,
Lindsay tossed a perfect pass to
Simmons who stepped over the.
goal line. Hudson this time drop-
kicked the ball over to -make the
score 13-0.
Sophs Make Final Bid
With one minute to play, the
Sophs made a desperate attempt
t6 pull the game out of the fire. A
shoe string pass was completed,
and nearly netted a touchdown
with less than thirty seconds to go.
However, their attempts were un-
successful and the Physical Ed.
counted a win in their average.

The Minnesota-Indiana conflict
will find the Gophers trying to gain
back a little of the prestige ti at
has sliped out of their fingers fol-
lowing two successive defeAts. Wis-
consin probably will have little
trouble subduing the lowly Chicago
team whichhas yet to win a Big
Ten game although Penn last Sat-
urday had lots of trouble to win.
Both Illinois and Michigan play
outside the Conference with the
Wolverines going East to meet the
Navy and the Illini traveling to In-,
dianapolis to assist in dedicating
Butler's hew stadium..
I Should an Iowa victory result on
Saturday, the Hawkeyes will have
leaped but one anurdlie in their'
way to a championship for two
other obstacles in the shape of;
Wisconsin and Michigan will re-
main and neither should be very
easy to surmount. The Buckeyes,
also, will have a stiff tussel left
for the closing game. Should they
spill Iowa, the shadow of the Il-
linois eleven will still be darkening
the way to championship heights.
Should Ohio win and then lose
the final tilt at Urbana or if Iowa
wins and then bow to either Wis-
consin or 'Michigan, a heated con-
test will result for the honor of
topping the Western Conference.
