Question:
The Board of Representatives
discussed the possibility of al-
lowing houses to remain open
and callers to stay until 1:30 on
jFriday night and 12:30 on Sat-
urday night. Was this acted
upon?
Answer:
The discussion arose from the
feeling on the part of some
house presidents that it would be
better to allow callers to remain
until 1:30 on Friday night, for
instance, than to have the
women leaving the house at
11:30 in order to take advan-
tage of the 1:30 closing hour.
No action was taken on this
matter and it is expected that
it will be brought up again for
discussion. ; There are several
points of view which are very
good and they deserve careful
consideration. Judgments should
be based on experiments with
the present rule.- This reads:
"All houses must close and cal-
lers must leave at 10:30 o'clock,
except on Friday and Saturday
when the closing hour is 11:30.
jThe Sunday closing hour is 11
o'clock."j
Elizabeth Wellman, Chairman
Board of Representatives.
