S FOR FRESHMEN

Rooming problems at the Uni-
versity are almost entirely handled
by the administrative officials
rather than by the students, there-
by allowing a careful check-up on
the conditions under which stu-
dents must live. All freshmen are
required to live in houses approved
by the University rooming inspec-
tors and the office of the dean of
students.t
Lists compiled by Fred B. Wahr,
assistant dean of students, include
440 single rooms, 460 double rooms
and 301 suites and in addition
there are approximately 85 light-1
housekeeping rooms listed for the
convenience of married students,
or for unmarried men who desire
an apartment and in accordance
with the ruling of the Board of
Regents must live in supervised
apartments. According to the rules
of the University, each house on
the list must register every yearas
the cards of approval which are
issued are good only for periods of
one year. Of the 758 approved
houses on last year's list only 510
householders have registered for
approval.

Sportsmen and laymen are look-
ing forward with eager eyes to the
big intersectional game of the year
which will be played in Baltimore
on the 10th of November. Both
Michigan and Navy, the two teams
which will figure prominently in
this contest, have enjoyed a very
successful season thus far and both
have high hopes of emerging from
the fray with the laurels.
Critics have the result of the af-
fair doped out ahead of time and
give a slight edge to Michigan in

son. The United States Naval aca-
demy has engaged four to date, in
cluding such widely known aggre-
gations as Davis-Elkins, Boston
university, Notre Dame, and Duke.
Duke was beaten 6-0 as a result of '
a smashing drive on the part of'
Navy. On the other hand Michigan
has played three games. These
were with Ohio Wesleyan, Indiana,
and Ohio State. The Wolverines
won one game; that was one with
