Hatfield To Present Campbell Memorial Lecture On Industry The Campbell Memorial lecture will. be given tonight at 8 o'clockI in 1042 East Engineering buildingi by Dr. W. H. Hatfield, who is asso- ciated with the Browfi-Firth Re-i search laboratories -of Sheffield. England. The E. D. Campbell Mem- orial lecture was founded two years ago by the American Society for Steel Treatin~g in memory of the, late E. D. Campbell, formerly di- rector of the chemical laborator- ies of the University a few years ago. "The Application of Science! to the Steel Industry" will be the subject of the lecture. Dr. Hat- field will also deliver a lecture at 4 o'clock in the same room' on the subject "Rust and Acid-Resisting Steels." These two lectures are given un- der the joint auspices of the Uni- versity and the Detroit Chapter of the American Society for Steel' Treating. Dr. Hatfield is interest- edsin stainless steel and steel that resists corrosionr at high tempera- tures. He is delivering a series of 21 lectures in the United States. A well known book of his, accord- ing to Prof. W. P. Wood, of the metallurgical engineering depart- ment, is "Cast-Iron in the Light of Research."
