All three hmsen have had excellent records on various links in the I country before coming here and have played a style of golf that is impressive on any course. Jack Lenfesty, captain of thc fe shman squad, an a number one man, was former Public Course champion of the Middle West, and proved himself to be one of the best players on the' cipus sbyremain- ing in the all-emps tournament last fall till the last round, when he was put out of play by a mem- yerr of the Varsity foursome. Hicks was Junior . champion of Gong Island last year and since playing here has given the Varsity players a b. and of golf which they find hard to beat without some 3ornment. Another man who is considered to 3e of Varsity calibre, is Johnny 4oward. In the Michigan State ;ournament last year. Howard was Snbt put out of play till the second round by Dave Ward of the Var- sity squad, but it is commendable that he was able' to remain in a championship flight until that round.
