University in a blazing path;' of
glory, President Clarence Cook
Little turnied fire fighter long
enough Wednesday afternoon to
help foreman Gustav Dicks put out
a dangerous fire which had started
in th~e Alumni Press in the rear of
the Economics building.
According to Dicks, the flames were
caused by a jamming up of paper
in one of the bed presses which was
printing part of this week's issue
of the Michigan Alumnus. Dicks
was alone in the building at the

After about ten minutes of hur- 1

quieting the stubborn flames much
to the joy of a few students watch-
ing the proceedings from the. out-
side. Suddenly one of the students
peered th-rough the window of the
Alumni Press and said, "Gee,
that's President Little helping in
there."
Prexy turned to Dicks and asked
if it was the Alumnus which was
being printed on the ill-fated press
and when receiving an affirmative
answer he merely said, "Certain-:
ly ought to be a hot issue" and
walked quietly out oanto the eamn-
