Graduate Student's Filibuster Pre-
vents Adoption of New
Union Amendment

The proposec amendment would
allow a quorum of a mere handful
of Union members 'to pass an
amendment to the constitution,
which at present quite sensibly'
calls for a larger quorum of 600.
Just as the amendment was about
to be passed at the pep-meeting,
and fully three-fourth of those
present came with no thought of
the Union amendment, a graduate
student fillibuster ed, long enough to
bring the unsuspecting body to its
senses, and the motion was quashed
by an overwhelming majority.
