To All Men Students:
You are hereby reminded of the ruling passed by the Board of Regents
at their meeting of May 27, 1927.
"Resolved: That beginning with the University year 1927-28 all men stu-
dents in the freshman clas's be required to live in approved men's rooming
houses, and that no unmarried male student be allowed to live in an apart-
ment not under the direct supervision of a landlady in residence. The Dean
of Students is given authority to make exceptions to these regulations in
cases where in his opinion conditions warrant a departure from the rule's."

Professor C. Caratheodory of the University of Munich, will lecture on:
"Applications of Lebesgue Integrals to Analysis, Geometry and,
Mechanics," on Wednesday and Thursday, January 25 and 26 and on "Theory
of Functions of two Independent Variables" on Friday, January 27.
The lectures will be given in Room 1035 Angell Hall at 4 p.m.

University Librarian
To Work In Vatican
William W. Bishop, University li-
Sbraran, and head of the department
of library science will sail from'New
York on Feb. 2 for Rome where le
will assist in carrying out the work
of reorganizing the Vatican library
which was started last year.
A year ago Bishop made a. survey
of the Vatican library for the Car-
negie Endowment for International
Peace. Out of that survey have
grown certain projects looking to-
ward expert aid in reorganizing some
of the Vatican library's special
branches of service.
Expert catalogue has provided for
the incunabula numbering over 6,500.
Plans are being also formulated for
a combined list of all the 60,000 manu-
scripts. Four members of the Vatican
library staff are in America for study,
two at the Library of Congress and 1
two at the University here.
A party consisting of Bishop, J.C.
M. Hanson, associate director of th e
University of Chicago libraries; and
Charles Martel, chief of the catalog
division of the Library of Congress
will make the trip leaving in Feb-
ruary.
It will be their purpose to confer
with the Vatican library authorities
on the principles and practice of
cataloging the great collection of
printed books.
Later, this party will be joined by
W. M. Randall formerly with the Uni-
versity library and possibly one or
two other American librarians. A
beginning will then be made at cata-
loging a small section of the Vatican
library trying; out the :)lans that have
been agreed upon.
Bishop plans to return to Ann Ar-
bor late in April, but the others of the
party expect to remain in Rome until
the first of June.


Choral Union:
Choral Lnion rehearsals during the period of examinations will be
held as follows:
Tuesday evening, January 24, 7 o'clock.
Tuesday evening, January 31, 7 o'clock. Sopranos and altos will join with
the tenors and basse*3 for combined rehearsals during this period. There will
be no rehearsal. on January 26 or February 2. Earl V. 3loore.
Geography 1.-All Sections:
Examination will be held February 2, at 2 p.m. (Thursday) as follows:
A to H in Room 25 Angell Hall, I to Z in Room 231 Angell Hall. Do not
bring any material except bluebook.

My quiz sections in Zoology 1 will meet in Room 2116, N.S., for the final
examination. The examination will be held on Friday, January 27, from 2-
5 p.m., as announced in the schedule.

Eugene E. Rovillain French 101:
The sections of French 101 at 8 a.m., and 2 p.m., of Prof. Rovillain, an-
nounced in the bulletin to be examined on Wednesday, January 25, must have
their examinations according to the regular schedule, namely: 8 o'clock
section on Wednesday a.m., January 25, and the 2 o'clock section Wednesday-
a.m., February 1. This supersedes previous notices. I. P. Thieme.
Geogmaphy 1--Prophet's Sections:
1 will be in my office from 10-12 o'clock and 1-2 o'clock on Monday, Jan-
uary 23, to return charts and papers. E. C. Prophet.
Varsity Glee Club:
The 'Ensian picture will be taken Saturday, January 21, at 5:50 p.m., at
Rentschler's Studio. Immediately thereafter, the club will repair to the
Union to take part in the Centennial Send-off program of the Alumni Asso-
ciation. Ribbons will be worn.

The January meeting of the Research Club will be held in Room 2528
East Medical Building on Wednesday, January 25, at 8 p.m. The following
papers will be given: "The Greenland Expeditions of the University of
Michigan," by Professor W. H. Hobbs; and "Research Units in Industry," by
Professor Z. C. Dickin'son.
The Council will meet at 4:30 o'clock in Room 1, Pharmacology Build-

There will be a meeting of the Executive Committee at the'office of Dean
Huber in the Graduate School on Saturday, January 21, at 4 p.m.

Student Volunteers:
There will be a meeting of Student Volunteers and all those interested in
Foreign Missions at Wesley Hall at 9:30 o'clock on Sunday morning. A dis-,
cussion on the first chapter of "Christian Voices Around the World," a series
of books gotten out by the Student Volunteer Movement, will be led by

Play Production Classes are sponsoring the engagement of this. well-
known company of artists now on their sixth American tour. They will ap-
pear in two performances in Hill Auditorium, Thursday, February 2. A

county. His plan of borough govern-
ment for Allegheny county, in which
Pittsburgh is located, is now before
the voters of Pennsylvania. His
problem at the present time is one
