Rait, professor of Stottish history and literature at Glasgow university and Royal His- toriographer of Scotland will speak here tomorrow afternoon at 4:15 o'clock in Natural Science auditorium on the subject of "New Lights on Mary' Queen of Scots." Prof. Arthur L. Cross of the His- tory dopartment who has heard Dr. Rait speak says of him, "Not onlyj is he a foremost authority in his par- ticular field, but Dr. Rait is also a speaker of unusual charm." Dr. Rait was for 14 years a fellow at New col- lege, Oxford and for 10 years of that period was a tutor at that college. In addition, he has written many books, several of which have been very widely read. Among his long list of lpublished books are included such books as "The Parliaments of Scot- land," "King James' Secret," "Rela- tions Between England and Scotland," and "Thoughts on the Union Between England and Scotland.'
