LaMer of the depart- ment of chemistry at Columbia uni- tversity spoke yesterday afternoon in the auditorium of the Chemistry b~uild- ing on "The Influence of Electrical Charges on the Behavior of Solutions, Particularly Solubility." Dr. LaMer, who is a native of Kan- sas, received his training at the uni- verities of Kansas, Chicago, Columbia, Cambridge;, and Copenhagen. He has taught in the Kansas high school's and at Columbia, university, and was the Cutting travelling fellow of Columbia for one year.
