Tolan and Cook both ran the 60 yard dash in 6 5-10 seconds which equaled the time of Hester, Robb, and Chapman, Varsity sprint- ers. Murray and Metz are also show- ing to goodl advantage in the dashes. In the distances, Coach Hoyt as developed several runners who have excellent possiilities. Benson and Bazley lead the half milers, the former having turned in a time of 2:01 2-. In the mile, Austin and Toth are the outstanding perform ers, the latter, having a slight edge. His best time is 4:40 5-10. Groen is a promising two miler.I In the field events, the squal is well represented. Pottle, a Detroit product, is the best pole vaulter with a jump of 11 feet 6 inches to his credit. Patton and Decker lead the hammer throwers, both being excel- lent performers. Bator, regularly throwing the 16-pound weight 42 feet is the best of the shot-putters, al- though Marshall is not far behind him. In the board jump, Harrell is at present the best performer, with Bailey pushing him hard for his p- sition . Competition for the lead in hurdlingj has served to develop some very fair hurdlers. Smyth and Potter are b~attlin~g each other for supremacy in the lows, while Ludginton and Hug- gett are showing quite good form in the highs. Hluggett, although a class 13 champion, is being hard pushed by Lu dginton. The outstanding quarter milers are Cooper, Russell and Baker. The first telegraphic meet of the year is scheduled for March 3. The opponent has not yet been definitey decided but it will probably be some- other Conference school. ANN ARBOR HIGH QUINTET TO PLAY FLINT, BAY CITY Still undefeated but with the hard- est part of the schedule ahead, Ann Arbor high school's basketball quin- tet is preparing for a week end trip into the Thumb district. Coach, Holloway's men meet the strong Bay City five Friday night anid Flint Central Saturday. Both of these teams are expected to give the Purple and White a bitter struggle. Defense and offense are being polish- ed up for this trip, since Bay City' is always strong defensively while ipski and Sackrider, mainstays of Flint's attack, must be curbed in their scoring activities. New uniforms are expected to ar- rive before the team leaves Friday as O'Haro Post No. 423, Veterans ofj Foreign Wars, has donated new: suits in recognition of the splendida record of this year's court squad.I Northwvestern , Illinois, and Iowa I owa, Compet ing in its first:(Cen- ,enaue undo.'a ted ini the I~i g 'lenl ielenee meet of the season. 5hi:C1't race for Cdual imeet 5w1'illiilg 01bPos iIII(A pected st reng,~i in winlning ever. by downing weaker tOnponent 5 R'12S first place ago instt Chico go. C. February 10, 1927 Larus & Bro. Co., Rickmond, Va. Gzentlemen: I've done a lot of pipe smoking. There's hardly a brand or a blend that I haven't tried out at some time or other. B3ut speaking of smoking tobacco that brings real enjoyment, and never changes, I want to say that there is just one tobacco that gives me real enjoyment in my pipe-Edgeworth. I have used Edgeworth Ready Rubbed and Plug Slice for over five years, in all climates and under all conditions, and I find it always the same. It is always mellow and moist, and its genuine flavor lasts. There is no bite or parch- in Edgeworth, and the quality, whether you buy it in small or large quantities, is always perfect. Thanks to the manufacturers for their wonderful product, and I hope that Edgeworth can always be obtain- able by the undersigned. Guy B.
