Inspection Tour of University Library:
The University Library will conduct a tour of the building on Friday
afternoon, Sept. 30, at 4 o'clock. This is planned primarily for such upper
class students as have never made a tour of the library. First year students,
who did not take the trip during-Freshman Week, may do so at this time. Meet
in Room 110, Library Building, promptly at 4 o'clock.

Graduate Students:
Graduate students who have not filed an election card in the office of
the Graduate School, Room 1014 Angell Hall, should do so by Saturday of
this week.
Changes in election should be reported to the Graduate office. This
involves substitution of one course for another, dropping of courses, or adding'
of courses to elections as formerly made. This is important as accurate re-
ports cannot be obtained at the end of the semester unless courses are prop-
erly elected.

distributed through the Dean's messenger service. All instructors are asked
to read carefully the directions on the back, and to deposit the necessary
reports in the dean's messenger boxes.

The Elta Kronm Prize in Sociology:
The Eita Krom Prize, consisting of the interest on a gift of $1,000, amount-
ing to about $50, will be awarded in June, 1928, to the best sociological paper
of three thousand to five thousand words submitted by an undergraduate and
presenting the results of a study having in view the social betterment of the
writer's own community, or of some community with which he is familiar.
Papers must be submitted by May 1, 1928. The competition is open to all
undergraduates, whether members of classes in sociology or not. but must
show at least such, knowledge of that -subject as should be gained by work
equivalent to the beginning course at this University.
There has in the past been almost no intentional competition for this
prize and it has simply been awarded to the best paper of the sort described
submitted in the undergraduate courses.
