Big league owners indicated they would be antagonistic to the Dallas drag]t resol'ution, whilch nullified the modified draft agreement made by the International league, Amer- ican association, Pacific Coast and Three-I and Western leagues. 'While no announcement was forth- coming after the steering committees conferred with Commissioner Landis, I informal expressions were made by National and American league officiais that they had been too liberal with the minors. Want To Curb Majors It was pointed out that big league clubs paid fancy prices for star play- ers developed in the minors under the modified draft arangemeint. The full draft would permit the majors to tape their nick from all material, but the modified draft allows the minors to demandl big prices for their players. Herman J. Weierman, president of the pastern league, aind W. G. iBram- hiam, president of the S'outh Atlantic, Virginia and Piedmont leagues, ar- ranged to meet Commissioner Landis todlay. Final disposition of the matter will' probably come before the joint meet- ing of the National and American leagues tomorrow, provided Commis- sioner Landis has not cleared up the situation in the meantime. hiold Routine Business Routine business was before the National league at its fifty-third an- nual session today. The American league, with President E. S. Barnard in the -chair for the first time, ..ys- sembles tomorrow. Trade gossip was rife today, with interest centering in which clu1b would land George Sisler from the Broyvns. Phil Ball of St. Louis is ready to barter, while the Senators, Tigers and Indians are angling for the Browns' star. Detroit has Manush and Blue to trade, according to re- ports. WASHINGTON.-Bill Amos, Wash- ington and Jefferson athlete, has de- nied the rumor that he had signed as a catcher :for Montreal. Rice, Pitcher Elam Van Gilder and a third player to be named later.
