B,-y Baer, Wolverine guard, was named on the second team picked by Eck- ersall, while Louis Gilbert, versatile Maize and Blue halfback, was placed on the third eleven.' In addition to Oosterbaan, three other Middle Western players were honored on the first all-American team. Raskowski, giant Ohio State tackle, was given a tackle berth. The Crimson of Indiana wil; fly from Chicago to Birmingham in the !outh and from Texas to Cleveland and on to Europe, if Indiana's track athletes are successful in their com- petition for the Olympic team. The winter sports program, opening here tonight with the Franklin-Indi- ana basketball game, will gain speed from now on with the completion of Pre-conference basketball games. Wa- bash comes here Dec. 17, Coe, here Dec. 20, and Indiana meets Cincin- nati at Cincinnati Dec. 21. All of these non-conference outfits have gained ! note for their ability to knock off -ig Ten teams in early season games, which means that Everett Dean's greenhorn outfit will have to step to win games prior to the first Big Ten contest here Jan. 7 with Chicago. In- diana will have five conference games this semester and seven next semes- ter and will meet all the Big Ten aggregations with the exception of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Northwes- tern. These three teams are rated among the weaker conference basket- ball contenders for 1927-28. Indiana's wrestling schedule opens here Dec. 19 with Monmouth, and in- cludes meets with Ohio university, . Ohio State, Northwestern, Purdue, Michigan, the Big Ten sectional, and the Western Conference individital championships. Two more meets: may be added. Track Coach E. C. Hayes has.about cdmpleted a schedule which opens for indoor cindermen on Jan. 21 at CLi- cago and closes Mar. 24 at the Cleve- land Athletic club relays. Seven meets are on the indoor schedule.
