Malcolm, '06L, according to Prof. Jos-
eph R. Hayden of the political scienceI
department. Both have served in theI
Philippines for more than a score of
years.
Johnson was on the Michigan law
school faculty for 10 years,. He be-
came a professor in 1897 and gave
up teaching in 1901 when accepted a
judgeship in the supreme court in the
Philippines. Since that time he has
been 'influential both in politics and
educattion. He acted as regent of the
University, and has written several
books. While in America hie was a
member of the Ohio house of repre-
sentatives from 1883 to 18887.
