BROWN TO BE IN CHARGE Four members of the fiacuty have been appointed, by President Clarence Cook Little to assist Prof. Everett S. Brown of the political science depart- 14et, as the local advisory committee for-the New York( Times Intcolleg- iate Current Events contest. Prof. Peston W. Slosso,' of the history department, Prof. 'John L. .. rumm, of the journalism department, Prof. John V. Vant Sickle, of the econ- omics department, aul Waldo M. Abbot, of the rhetoric delartment, all having served. on the committee last year, were again appointed. The contest this year is the third annual one to lbe held under the suprvisin of the New York Times and is open to any undergraduate of the University who has not completed four years of college work since grad- nation from~ his preparatory school. The contest will e held April 27, 192, and will include all events from May 1, 1927 until the date of the contest. At a meeting of the committee, which was hield on Minday, it was decided to divide the local prize of $250 into three pries of $5, $75, and $25. This was done ii order to sin- ulate interest among the studeit body in 'hopes that the number of entriesF might be increasedl and then to give the students a better opportunity of winning one of the pries. The second prize of $75, will be awarded to the sophomore 'or freshman making the highest grade in the examination as last year one-third of the -entrants were underclassmen, and it is hoped that this year- more might enter.: Only the first prize winner at each of the 20 contesthg universities is dis- qualified from fu ure competition for the prizes, for under the new arrang- mnent, which was suggested for this i year, the second and third prize win- ' Tiers will not be: eliminated from fu- tre contests. HOLD EDUCATION CLUB DISCUSSION' AT UNION The recent symposium of feelings and emotions held "at Wittenberg col-I lege in Ohio was the subject of an in- formal discussion by the men's Edu- cation club meeting Tuesday night at the Union. Prof. William C. Vrow and Howard Y. McCusky, of the. department of educational psychology, spoke on the papers which seemed to them to bef the outstanding contributions at thej seminar. Besides these men from the School of Education, there also attend-' ed Profs. Walter B. Pillsbury and Charles H. Griffiths, of the depart- mnent of psychology and Willard C. Greene, an assistant in the University museum. Professor McCusky said that the symposium, marked one of the g eat-, est get-togethers in the history ofj psychology in the United States. Albert Ohlinger, professor in edu- ! cational psychology at Ypsilanti Nor- mal .college and agraduate student at the Uiversity also spoke.
