Bead of Forestry School Will Attend
Investigation into Status

JONES HEADS COMMITTEE
Dean Samuel T. Dana is to leave
for Washington, D.C., Thursday to at-
tend a meeting of the, forestry corn-
mittee of the National Academy of
Science which is conducting an inves-
tigation into the present status of
forest research and forest education.
The meeting will be held to consider
forestry fellowships. Prof. LR. Jones
of the University of Wisconsin, is
chairman of the committee of which
Dean Dana is a member.
Dean Dana has been chosen as one
of two foreign foresters to select a
man to fi'll a vacancy in the chair of
forestry management at the University
of Helsinki, at Helsingfors, Finland.
There are two candidates for the posi-
tion of which, Prof. Yrjo Ilvessalo who
recently visited the forestry school
here, is one. Prof. Ilvessalo gave a
lecture before forestry students on the
forests of Finland.
