Shortly after sup- per at the Michigan Union the seniors marched in a body to the Whit- ney theater, lead by the junior aides who were appointed by Betty Nutt, '27, chairman of the play. These junior women were selected from those of their classmates who were not engag- ed in preparing for the annual play, as representative junior women. Between courses at the dinner mem- bers of the senior class practised the songs, which were later sung at the theater. As is customary the songs are parodies on the play of the pre- ceding year. Words to the two songs which were sung this year were writ- ten by Margaret Sherman, '27, to the' tunes of "Michigan Men" and the "Newsboys Chorus". Both lof these numbers appeared in "Becky Behave" the 1927 Junior Girls' play. Due to the shortness of the time" no organized program was given and as tickets to the play were distributed during the supper, the line of march was formed soon after. Mortar Board, and Senior Society, both honorary societies for senior women led the procession. The entire main floor and part of the balcony of the theater was reserv- ed for the seniors, and their guests of honor who included Mrs. John Ef- finger, Mrs. Allan S. Whitney, Dr. Margaret Bell, Miss Grace Richards, Miss Beatrice Johnson, Miss Alice Lloyd and Mrs. Norma B. Mansfield. The arrangements for the annual Senior supper were made by Virginia Fox, general chairman of the affair and who had as her assistants, Fran- ces Dunnewind, finance manager, Catherine Buhrer songs, Selma Alex- ander and Esther Tuttle programs and Florence Wolf, menu. Work has already begun on breaking ground for the erection of the new field house for women, which will be located on Palmer Field, and the hill which separates the two hockey fields is being raWdly cut down. The field house as described by Dr. Margaret Bell, will be a two story red brick building, colonial in design, and the entrance will be made between mas-I sive white pillars, facing North Uni- I versity avenue. On the first floor will be a lobby, a service room, a room containing fifty- eight showers, and in the back, 180' dressing booths, and 1,200 lockers. The second floor will have lockers especial- ly for the professional stdudents, a first aid room, a kitchen, and a club! room, where the W. A. A. board will hold their meetings, and will contain the various pictures, plaques, and awards of the organization. A veryl special attraction will be the spacious lounge room, which will occupy the center of the second floor, and will be furnished with comfortable daven-1 ports, chairs, and tables.i From the lounge room, French doors will open out on on a green ter-' eld house for women, which will be f Dr. largaret Bell of the unijersity race, which leads down to the play- ing fields. It is planned that the ter- race will be shaded by a large, bright- colored awning coming out from the second floor, which will provide a cool place for players to come after games, to rest and partake of refreshments. The terrace may also be used as a spectators' gallery for tennis games. Facilities for almost every outdoor sport have been planned. Provision will be made for four hockey fields and 24 tennis courts, two of the pres- ent courts to be included., There will be special fields for archery and golf, and several putting greens. Arrange- ments will also be made for smaller fields to be used for volley ball and other games. The new field house will be com- pleted and be ready for use by next fall, according to Dr. Bell. This is without doubt one of the finest things that has been done to benefit the women of the University.
