'. j. i I'li keri ity Attempts To Solve Problem Of Relationship Of Dean's Office With Women DISCLOSES DIFFICULTIES I attempting to solve the problem of the relationship between the office of the dean and the university women, Ohio State Univeristy has instituted a unique experiment in the form of a psychological clinic which co- operates with the dean of women in settling such problems as arise. This department has a trained psy- chologist in charge, who studlies each difficulty from a point of mental hy- giene. It was found that the women dlid not come to the dean for counsel, the objection seeming to lie in the fact that she was, primarily a disci plinaw'y organ. The clinic works through ini- terviews, and tries to uncover such facts as may have been instrumental in causing the difficulty, Since the opening of the ofice in fall, 187 cases have been taken care of. Of this number, 35 came of their own accord.
