The Hawkeyes, with successive Big Ten victories over Chicago. and. Pur- due, are prep~ared to repel the attack- of Coach Mather's quintet in an effort t o keepY their slate clean. Indications are, however, that the unbeaten Mich- igan team will present a powerful five in the opening lineup. A win by Iowa will probably drop the front place Wolverines into the second di- vision. , :t >> {. ., j , lowa Lineup Vlnel iniged Iowa will probably lineup with the l same team that has faced the other Conference opponents, Coach Sam SBarry. announced tonight.' Captain II ogan and McConnell will be at the guards, Wilcox at center, and Two- g-ood, and. VanDeusen at forwards. THarrison and Phillips, veteran for- wards, and Lawson, guard, are the best reserves. Coach Mather announced before his departure fr~om Ann Arbor that he{ may shift his lineup, but it is probable that the team which downed Minne- sota, with Oosterbaan and Petrie, guards, McCoy, center, Harrigan and Captain Chambers, forwards, will start the game. 1-lowever, the show- ing of Schroder, lanky pivot man, and' Molenda, guard, may cause a complete change, the coach 'announced. Schro- der may be started at center, with Molenda replacing Petrie, if there is a last minute shift. Martin, a for-, ward, is! another' possible starter, while Rasnick is likely to be in thei lineup before the game ends. Both Teamis Show Power The Hawkeyes, with both of their wns on foreign courts, will be a hard team to defeat on their home floor., Hogan and McConnell have --proven to be an impregnable pair of guards, and the chief strength of the Iowa five has been found in their powerful defense. The offense, however, is far from weak. Wilcox, center, is good at takig the tipoff, while Twogood and V~an Deusen are adept floor man; thel atter is also an especially good per-[ former around the basket. The Wolverines will likewise pre- sent a strong aggregation, although the defense is not so powerfully rated. 1 SOosterbaan, according to critics, is ncft yet 'entirely accustomed to handling *the guard berth, but makes up for whatever weakness hie has shown by proving a valuable factor in the scor- ing- machine. Should the veteran Mo- lenda be sufficiently well trained to1 be substituted into the regular quin- t et, the Michigan defensive strength will be greatly increased. In Harrigan, forward, the Michigan team has one of the best floormuen in the country, and along with Chambers will probably form tihe strongest com- bination that the Iowans have faced this year.
